I finally found the time to watch Ashwin Mathew's Server Monitoring presentation given at MAX 2 weeks ago. Much of what Ashwin discusses can be read about on blogs but it's always nice to hear someone talk about it as well. Incidentally, the Server Monitor is built in Flex, hence the assignment of this post to the Flex category. You can check out Ashwin's preso here (http://blogs.sanmathi.org/ashwin/2006/11/08/sneak-peek-scorpio-server-monitoring/).

  1. If you want to be pedantic, the monitoring API is built with CFCs, and CF8 ships with a default Flex GUI to it :-)
Unfortunateley, this means the CF8 GUI won't run if your server is hosed, unlike Java-native things like Fusion Reactor.
